BOOTCAMP!

 “So what exactly do you do at these bootcamp classes?!” 

 I get asked this often. I get it, the name “bootcamp” can be a bit scary. You get this picture in your head of an army drill sergeant  yelling at you until you want to cry. Well, it’s actually not (always 😂) like that! 

Bootcamp is SO many things! 

In my words bootcamp is:

-challenging 

-always different 

-what you put into it 

-safe

-effective 

-a community 

 I have had the privilege of instructing  bootcamp for over 10 years! In that time fitness has changed so much. Trends change, people come and go, but what always stays consistent is the effective and challenging workouts, the positive energy within the class, and the pride I feel when I see the changes this class makes in someone’s life. 

You see, it’s not all about the actual workout. Of course you are coming to class for instruction, guidance and motivation- and you will absolutely get that, no matter what your age, ability or fitness level. But you will get so much more than that.

 You will get to be a part of the most amazing community. 

Like I said before, the group of people coming to class might change. I’ve had some people coming for years and some people who started last week, but whether you’re new or old you will feel it. There is such a strong sense of community within a group class. We are friends. We motivate, encourage and support each other. Not only in fitness but in our everyday lives. We talk- a lot- they sometimes trick me into rest breaks with their stories. 

We laugh- a lot- not at each other (ok, well sometimes 🤣)  but with each other. They yell at me- a lot- during class, and then after thank me and tell me how much they enjoyed that workout. 🙄

We do fun things outside of class- sign up for girls weekend races, run stairs on the weekends, do post bootcamp brunches and go on class “feildtrips” for workouts. 

It’s amazing to me to see what a positive effect this community has on those who are a part of it. I can truly say that if you come to class feeling down, tired, stressed or overwhelmed that you will leave feeling 100% better with a smile on your sweaty, flushed face!

How blessed am I that I get to do what I love every day with the most amazing people. I get to see them transform physically and mentally. I get to see friendships built and I get to be a part of each and every one of their journeys. (Oh, and I get to kick their butts! 😉)
